Profile: An insight into working with Creativity Works
A Focus on: Stuart – our Financial Administrator

Job Title:
Financial Administrator

When did you start working for Creativity Works?
What is your professional background?
I spent 39 years working in the Ministry of Defence home and abroad mostly as a finance officer though I also spent some time in logistics and training. I qualified as a Management Accountant in 2005.

What does a typical day look like for Stuart at Creativity Works? As I only work for one day a week it is pretty hectic catching up with the outstanding invoices and any financial queries. I also have to process any expense claims and prepare the monthly payroll as well as feeding the beast which is the Sage accounting system to ensure that the financial accounts are kept  up to date and that they represent a ” true and fair view” of creativity works’ activities and expenditure.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

It is refreshingly different from my previous  work and they  allow dogs although I have not yet had the courage to bring in my 3 year old Boxer Dylan for fear of destroying the office. Oh and I suppose I had better say the people are nice too !!

What do you find most challenging?

Fitting everything in each week whilst trying to keep abreast of all of the latest activities and initiatives in which creativity works  is involved.

What has been most surprising during your time so far at Creativity Works?
The range and diversity of Creativity Works activities and on joining the tea club, discovering just how many different types of herbal tea there are in the world
What has been your biggest professional or personal achievement to date?
Getting Dylan to the stage where I can (almost always) take him out in public during daylight hours.
