Vacancy: Apprentice Communications & Admin Assistant

Job Overview

To be the first point of contact for the public at Creativity Works in Radstock and to provide administration duties for the whole team as required, assisting in the smooth running of the office, and working alongside staff to ensure the highest quality of delivery of all projects.

Working alongside the current staff team to gain the skills and experience required for the role and the Apprenticeship Qualification, tasks will include:

  • Helping to improve and maintain office systems, including phone and computer systems, booking arrangements and stationary / resources management;
  • Overseeing office practice and ensure compliance with legal requirements;
  • Supporting the staff team in all areas of their administration and data input;
  • Answering the telephone, taking messages and welcoming visitors;
  • Helping to prepare for workshops/events as appropriate;
  • Sorting incoming post;
  • Assisting with updating and distributing relevant event information, and the maintenance of promotional in-house displays.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the website, and social media accounts.
  • Attending scheduled meetings as required.

Training to be provided

The Apprentice will receive a comprehensive induction and on-going training and support at work. They will also attend Norton Radstock College on a weekly basis, to develop their knowledge and skills and work towards a range of qualifications, including the Level 3 Diploma in Business Admin, Functional Skills, Employment Rights and Responsibilities, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.

Terms of Engagement

The role is for 18 months at 30 hours per week. Payment will start at £3.50 per hour with a review after 6 months potentially leading to £5.50 per hour.
